Unlike dry skin (which lacks oil) dehydrated skin is lacking water. It’s a temporary condition, not a skin type — and it can affect anyone, even those with oily or combination skin.

Dehydrated skin often looks dull, feels tight, and shows signs like uneven tone, fine lines, or dry lips.

It can be triggered by not drinking enough water, a high intake of caffeine or alcohol, excessive sweating, hot showers, air con, or a diet low in essential nutrients. Medications, illness & even the ageing process itself (less oils in the skin) can also play a role.
